A family on a styled Christmas set at MementOz Photography's Heathwood studio in Brisbane

The whole crew. One frame. Finally.

Christmas Portrait Sessions 2026, in our Heathwood studio. Two sets, eighteen sessions.

Book your session $225. Takes about two minutes.

Do you have three thousand photos of your kids, and not one with you in it?

Someone is always missing from the photo. Usually you, because you are the one holding the phone.

The last proper family portrait you own is from a wedding, and one of the kids was still a baby. Every December the whole family is in one room at the same time, and what you end up with is forty snaps on your phone where nobody is looking the same way and you are not in a single one.

Here is the strange thing about a year. While you are inside it, it looks exactly like the last one. Same school run, same Saturday sport, same Christmas tree in the same corner. Then you look back and nobody is the same. The little one has lost the baby face. The big one is taller than you.

This year you are going to have something to show for it.

Have a look around first

Most people hesitate to book somewhere they have never been, which is fair enough. So here is fifty seconds inside the studio.

There are two Christmas sets this year. A classic one built around a real Christmas tree, and a new Australian beach Christmas set we have never used before. Both are built and lit and stay that way for the whole campaign, and your session covers both of them.

There is a small client lounge where your family can sit, sort out hair and shoes and settle before we start.

What the session actually feels like

You arrive, we say hello properly, and you get a few minutes in the lounge to sort out hair, shoes and nerves. Then we photograph you on two sets we built and lit for exactly this.

Nobody is told to say cheese. Nobody is arranged into a stiff pyramid. We talk, we muck around a bit, and we catch your family being your family. The best frame of the day is almost always an accident.

Thirty minutes later you are back in the car and the hard part of Christmas is done.

I am Kapil, and this is our studio

My wife and I have been photographing Brisbane families from our Heathwood studio since 2015. It started because I wanted proper photographs of my own family and could not find anyone doing the kind of work I had in my head.

What I care about is the print. A file on a hard drive is a file on a hard drive. A framed photograph on your wall is the thing your kids will fight over in thirty years. That is the whole reason I do this.

Any questions before you book, text me on 0403 471 111. I answer them myself.

Questions people ask

Do I have to buy anything else?

No. Your $225 covers the session and five fully finished digital images. The $50 credit is there if you want a wood or metal print, and it is yours to use or not use.

You mentioned two sets. Do we get both?

Yes, both are included. There is a classic Christmas set built around a real Christmas tree, and a new Australian beach Christmas set. We move you between the two inside your thirty minutes, so you end up with two completely different looks from the one session.

Will there be a sales appointment?

There is no sales appointment. Your private gallery arrives by email a few days after your session and you choose what you love at home, in your own time.

My kids will not sit still. Is that a problem?

It is genuinely not. We photograph small children every week and we plan the session around short attention spans. Loud is fine. Wriggly is fine. Coming in nervous is fine.

What should we wear?

Once you book we send you a styling guide with real examples of what works on our Christmas set. Short version: pick two or three colours that sit well together and avoid big logos.

I hate having my photo taken.

You are in good company, and it is the most common thing clients say when they walk in. Our job is to direct you so you never have to work out what to do with your hands.

How many people can we bring?

Immediate family is included. If you want grandparents or extended family in the frame, tell us when you book so we can allow the time.

When will we get our photos?

Your private gallery arrives within five business days of your session. All artwork must be ordered by 7 November so it can be made and delivered before Christmas.

Eighteen sessions. 8 to 25 October.

Every session has to be photographed, chosen, made and framed before the Christmas cutoff. That is what limits the calendar, and it is why we cannot do these in December.
